Badminton and connections

Everyone is welcome! Bad’Ass Open brings club members and visiting players together for badminton, friendly competition and opportunities to get to know one another. Register individually as there are no fixed pairs: you don’t need to bring a doubles partner. We will create the pairs that will participate to the tournament.

Choose the parts of the weekend that suit you, including tournament play, time together over dinner or staying for the closing party.

How it works

Tell us which playing level you would like to enter when you register. Initial short games help us assess levels before assigning doubles partners. Pair selection is based on playing level, not gender or gender expression.

Tournament Rules

• Phase 1: Singles matches to 9 points against random opponents based on the level you have selected, on half courts. These matches help assess skill levels.

• Phase 2: Pairs will be mixed and created based on result of phase 1. Gender and gender expression are not considered in pair selection.

• Phase 3: Doubles matches. Each pair plays 4 matches against other pairs. Best of 2 sets to 15 points, win by 2 points.

• Phase 4: Final rankings followed by quarters, semis, and finals.

Please know that we may adjust categories or pairings to ensure balance.
